Thank you so much. I am a retired Kinder teacher (wish I found you before I retired) but I am tutoring Kinder and and 1st after school now so I am thrilled to use you as a resource. Snakes and Ladders is a big hit..building confidence with high frequency words. I also made a game of just letters for one struggling with letter names and will use for sounds too. Thank you!

Wow, I am sooooo blown away by the sheer amount of activities, variety, depth and complexity that went into creating the sequence for this curriculum. The fact that you choose to share these amazing resources FREE OF CHARGE is also mind blowing. I am a seasoned veteran with 13+ years instructing ESL Early childhood students and I have never encountered a curriculum like yours. You ensured that all areas of literacy development were covered in a fun hands-on multi-sensory progression of skills. This is my new small group phonics go-to resource this year!

I am so excited to have stumbled across this resource!! ♡♡♡♡ I am going to spread the news through my social networks and on my campus.☆☆☆ This curriculum is not only great for educators in a formal setting, but also home schoolers, tutors, parent volunteers, and parents who are looking for a comprehensive and easy to implement resource. You have ensured that quality instruction is accessible for all students by creating and sharing this resource. THIS IS A 5 STAR PRODUCT ☆☆☆☆☆.

I can’t wait to print and compile them in a binder and literacy bags. After the students master the skill, they will independently use them in literacy workstations independently and cooperatively in groups as well. Thank you for the treasure trove of blessings once again.

I really love this site. It has saved me so much work with flashcards etc. and the children just love the games, especially the Fly Swat where they get to use so much energy swatting the fly cards. Really good for those who have difficulty focusing and concentrating.

My daughter is in Pre-K now (three and a half) and is not familiar with a lot of board games. I know she will love the fly swat game. I’m wondering if you can recommend the appropriate game(s) for each level. Thanks so much for this great resource!

    ADMIN – Hi Liz,

That depends somewhat on the individual child’s reading level as well as his/her temperament and preferences. Fly Swat, Pathways, and Bean Bag Toss are great games for little ones that need lots of movement to hold their attention. Book Land and Snakes & Ladders are based on board games that preschoolers are familiar with, but you should probably use a smaller word set and have repeated words, rather than throwing a ton of words at them all at once. Card games like Memory, Go Fish, and Old Maid may be a little too complex for younger kids.

As a french immersion kindergarten teacher I am always looking for fun ways to support early reading. Your option to make our own sight words lists is very helpful. For some reason though the program is not recognizing the accents – Any suggestions for that? ? Perhaps it’s not something you have looked into yet. Thank you so much for this ‘fantastique’ resource.

    ADMIN – Hi Heidi,

We originally developed this site for teaching children to read English, and the font we currently use does not support foreign diacritical marks. As we get more feedback from teachers who use the site for teaching other languages, we will consider expanding our resources in that direction. Thanks for your feedback!

The fact that it’s free just makes it so remarkable!

I’m a recently retired Special Needs teacher and former Literacy Coach. This is a wonderful resource site with easy to recreate activities to help children in sight word/high frequency word mastery. I’ve utilized the Fly Swat, Trail and Memory/Concentration activities with my great nephew during our tutoring sessions and he loves it! And it’s wonderful to see his growth that is evident and recognized by his parents/grandparents. Will definitely share this website with others! Thank you.

A – MAZING!!! We have an Indian system of teaching & kids get bored of learning & just writing it down. In contrast, these are sooooo creative. It keeps them excited all the time, the games are so well thought out, also the Custom options that allow us to insert the words. These can be used for higher grades, too, for teaching them spelling. I CAN’T THANK YOU ENOUGH. 🙂

I am homeschooling my son, who I suspect has dyslexia, and he has a lot of trouble remembering sight words. I’m so thankful for all these games so that I can keep it interesting while we go over the same words over and over again! I especially appreciate that you can enter your own custom words so that I can make it correspond exactly with the reading program we are using. This whole website is great and I have recommended it to people more than once!
